Our annual Boating day at Motuihe Island!  Sunday 20th February turned on a great summers day for us at Motihue Island, with over 50 people attending this years annual Club Boating Day. Thanks to Adam for the big BBQ, who once again was saved from embarassment by Mike Desmond, for bringing the wrong gas fitting! A great day was had by all, with special thanks going to the people who provided transport and especially helped on the day to make this such an enjoyable day.  The tide was particularly low and I think Bruce Steele was still sitting on the beach waiting for the tide to come in so he could get home.  >>> Here are a few photos from the day.

The Howick Squash Table Tennis Fun Tournament !  A great event which we ran for the first time this year and it was an over-welling success. The winners of division one were Mark Templeman and Lucas Betts who narrowly beat Alf Nadin and Jan Carlson in a closely contested final.  A big thanks to Adrian and Sharon for organising, Maria for being official scorer and an extra special thanks to Kylie and the ladies for the fantastic dinner. It was a good day and evening despite the ABs losing by 2 points... >>> Here are a few photos from the day.

Congratulations to Brett and James Meyer.  Their tremendous effort for the Guiness World Record attempt for the longest squash marathon game ended in success. They played for a total of 24 hours and although very exhausted (physically and mentally) they and the rest of their supporters were elated with their success.  James and Brett were inspired to attempt this to raise money for Child Cancer and without counting any extra donations received this weekend it is already in excess of $16,000 (we will let you know the final amount once this has been established). Meantime I would like to thanks all those who helped Brett and James accomplish such a feat - and those who supported them and donated to this cause.  >>> Here are a few photos from the day.

This was a great opportunity to see top quality squash between Martin Knight and Campbell Grayson.  Prior to the the main game Martin and Campbell helped by providing some on court pointers to some of the local members.  They also gave the best local guys the run around in a game of doubles.  >>> Here are a few photos from the day.
